When in Doubt, Dance

The world would have us DO. After all, that is what the world does, it does. We are not programmed to BE, but more blessed than all the creating, is the reveling in creation itself for the sake of itself.

Nothing brings me home more succinctly and completely than watching my boys linger and dance, and race and reveal their souls as they flow through their days. So easy is their joy, so complete is their peace…except when it isn’t and then, well you know it, are faced with their disgruntled feelings and then, in a breath, the winds shift and giddy laughter returns.

We have much to learn from wee ones, how life’s upsets roll off and a see-saw is a beckoning to rock and ride all that is real and good and delightful.

Each reach out a cherub hand, as they ask me to race through the trees…
and I,
knowing the Divine calling for what it is, grasp their fingers intently and begin… full tilt into the ripples of their wake.

Today your Mission Me (should you choose to accept it) is…
To find a tree and dance with it, race round it, in body or in mind. Escape to a place that tingles your soul and let it consume you, fill you, fuel the essence of you that needs to be tenderly reminded of the power you have to choose…

To choose:
Your joy,
What touches you and what doesn’t,
How you will react or respond to life,
And whether you will keep on keeping on in your DOing or whether you will take a breath here and now, look around you and remember that to BE is the greatest gift you can ever offer you and those you love.

In celebration of the Cape and the Magnificent You inside it!
